“Slim Chance digs deep into the roots of rock 'n' roll throughout On The Move with songs, grooves, and arrangements that resonate as simultaneously classic and modern. Their command of the blues, to my ears, stands with their virtuoso countrymen Eric Clapton, Albert Lee, and Andy Fairweather-Low, among others.”

"On the Move sounds like music made with drinks in hand and wide smiles on faces"

Mark Blake, MOJO

The Huffington Post described the band as 'the real deal', an 'organic multifaceted collective'

'Displaying uncanny empathy with the original Honest Ron's rare joie de vivre spirit and humility, Slim Chance are still deserving of their place in the modern world perhaps even more so.'

Kris Needes, Record Collector

'The musicianship is top-rate…..the whole endeavour captures the indomitable spirit and sheer joie de vivre of Lane himself'

Rob Hughes, Classic Rock

Recalling Ronnie Lane's legendary Passing Show, Slim Chance took over Dingwalls in Camden Town, London, on March 12th and treated their fans to a night's total entertainment that featured fine support acts, fire-eaters, clowns, magicians, can-can dancers and compering by Johnny Atkinson. For this special occasion, the band was joined on stage by original members Benny Gallagher and Billy Livsey as well as saxman Nick Pentelow and their now honorary member Geraint Watkins . On the move - Slim Chance

"Their second LP is an aged-in-the-wood delight of fiddle, mandolin, accordion, guitars and keyboards texturing swinging rock'n'roll."

The band's latest album, 'On The Move', features five originals songs writtten by the band, three songs of Ronnie's (including 'The Poacher'), and three 'covers' (including a Leadbelly song and the Balham Alligators' 'Hey Hey, Ho Ho). We've had a lot of fun making it – in true Slim Chance style - and we think and trust that you'll like it. The album is available through all the usual channels and also as a CD from this website.

Lead Belly press conference

Slim Chance were invited to take part in the concert celebrating the life of Lead Belly at the Albert Hall on June 15th. Other guests included Eric Burdon, Ruby Turner, Jools Holland, Paul Jones, Dennis Locorriere and Van Morrison. It was a great night, thank you to everyone who made it, there will be a DVD of the show appearing later on in the year.

RONNIE LANE, renowned for his part in both the Small Faces and the Faces, wrote some of the most heartfelt and haunting songs of the 60s and 70s. Shunning commercial success he created and toured with his travelling circus, the Passing Show, and left a highly influential musical legacy. More

Yorkshireman Des Horsfall and his band Kuschty Rye have been following a path parallel to Slim Chance's for quite a few years now. Always deeply inspired by Ronnie's music, Des invited Charlie and Steve (aka the Fishpool Phil) to play on his first album, The Gentleman's Tonic, and they have also contributed to his forthcoming 'Bastard's Tin' as well as playing on the song Chameleon, written by Katie Lane and Pete Townshend.

Des has returned the favour by contributing a great version of 'Done this one before' to 'On The Move', and has joined Slim Chance for numerous acclaimed live shows of late. This trend is set to continue in 2016. Check out the band's gig list to see which shows you'll find Des on, and also see his website,
